Why Can’t I Sleep?

I went to bed tired. I woke up tired. I am just tired.

I wake up around 5am.

But I don’t want to be awake.

This isn’t because of my alarm.

That is set for 530.

There is also an alarm set for 630 on days in which I am too tired to get up at the first alarm.

But that’s everyday.

I go to bed exhausted and early enough that I think I’ll manage to get a good night of sleep.

I’m so tired so therefore my body will want to rest. Right?

That’s my thought before I fall asleep.

But then I wake up.

I check the time, and it’s 2am.

Damn it. Why did I wake up?

I close my eyes, but I can’t fall asleep.

I toss and turn.

Don’t look at your phone.

If I open the phone, I surely won’t get back to sleep for another hour.

Then my brain won’t shut up.

Did I reply to that email?

Should I check to see if I got a response on Bumble?
